The central coordination office (biodiversity exploratory office = BEO) is located at the  University of Potsdam.

The office organises exploratory meetings, conferences, excursions and administrates central issues.

It is the contact point for enquiries of scientists, authorities and the public. Web page, press releases and internal newsletters facilitate the work in the exploratories.
