H1: A species’ local establishment potential and performance can be predicted from parameters that describe the species’ realized niche.

There are significant interactions between climate, land use intensity, competition intensity and mollusc herbivory.

H3: The climatic differences between Exploratory sites are reflected in differences in the species’ performance in the field greenhouse experiments.

H4: The species’ fundamental niches and realized niches are related to each other.
