Thema: (i)the analysis of functional plant diversity in response to land use.The main task of the PhD student involves experimental studies of grassland species under standardized conditions (common garden, greenhouse) and the measurement of plant functional traits in response to land use. It further involves the participation in ongoing field experiments in the exploratories. Possible extensions include molecular-genetic analysis of selected grassland species in cooperation with the pollination group in Wuerzburg, facilitation and competition experiments in the field, analysis of vegetation composition, or meta-analysis of land use on diversity of different taxa.
