Currently, there are more than 40 projects involved. They investigate the cause-and-effect relations in the enlivened nature, both, by monitoring as well as experiments.
In spring 2017, the fifth phase of the Biodiversity Exploratories began. Currently, the new as well as discontinuing projects all work together.
The research platform Biodiversity Exploratories is organized in core and contributing projects. The core projects have been responsible for the implementation of the Exploratories. Since the third phase (2011-14) they coordinate project wide activities and conduct basic monitoring of taxa and processes. The contributing projects add further expertise with specific research questions.
