The common aim of MobilES and the Biodiversity exploratories (BEF-Up II project) is to investigate the extent to which surrounding patches of different types of land cover act as sources of ecosystem service (ES) providers and contribute to the relative provision of mobile-agent-based ES in Biodiversity Exploratories’ grassland plots.

We will use hierarchical Bayesian techniques to develop more biologically mechanistic modelling of ES provision, in particular with more accurate distance decay functions, to explore how spatial patterns of land use and movement of mobile agents together determine how bundles of ES differ between points in the Biodiversity Exploratories’ grassland plots.

Cooperations are projects financed by the cooperation partners’ own funds and thus financially independent of the DFG-funded infrastructure priority program ‟Biodiversity Exploratories (BE)”. They complement the BE with further interesting research content on biodiversity research and in return benefit from the infrastructure of the Biodiversity Exploratories.
