Excursion to the exploratory Swäbische-Alb

Master students of biology and geoecology from the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen visited the Exploratorium Schwäbische-Alb last week. As part of the master’s module Plant Ecology, this excursion took place for the third year in a row. This year it was organized by Maria Majekove, from the BE project ExploreNiche.

The excursion included visits to two forest and two grassland areas with different management intensities, which gave the students a good impression of the areas. In addition, they dealt with the fundamental structures of the exploratories and got an introduction to the ongoing research on the plots and learned about the highlights from over 15 years of research.

We hope that we were able to provide the young researchers with a lasting experience in the Exploratories and inspiring insights into research.
