A new chapter for the Biodiversity Exploratories
After many successful years at Senckenberg Nature Reserach, we are relocating the headquarters of the Biodiversity Exploratories to Technical University of Darmstadt. 🌱😀
Our project looks back on a long journey: from its beginnings at the University of Potsdam (2006–2012), through its establishment and further development at Senckenberg (2012–02/2026), to this new step into a different scientific environment.
With the start of the 8th funding phase, we are also setting important directions for the future: Prof. Dr. Nico Blüthgen will take over the scientific leadership, while we bid farewell to our long-standing spokesperson, Prof. Dr. Markus Fischer—with our sincere thanks for his dedicated and inspiring contributions, and for shaping and building the Exploratories as the project’s initiator from the very beginning.
Moving to TU Darmstadt primarily means new perspectives, closer exchange, and an environment that will enrich our work in new ways.
