Online-workshop: Introduction to BExIS and land use in the Biodiversity Exploratories

Topics: In this workshop, new project members will be introduced to five leading topics of the Exploratories, which will be distributed over two workshop days. The participants will receive an overview of the background, land use types, plot distribution, and research structure of the forest and grassland sites. Besides, they are introduced to the computation and application of the land use index (LUI) and receive important information needed for the interpretation of the provided land use data. The introduction to BExIS covers relevant tools for fieldwork planning, such as Maps or the BExIS fieldbook, and provides an overview of datasets, publications, and Data policy. The presentation “Do’s and Don’ts new phase + fieldwork ” will give an overview about specifications and rules during fieldwork in the three exploratories.
